Decorations

Handed out candy to kids last night. It was fun. Had to drive to a friends house to do it. But it was worth the trip. Got a good meal. A nice drink. And plenty of camaraderie. We were all set to watch the Astros play the Phillies in the World Series, but it got rained out. To bad Philly can’t afford a dome. Back to the kids. They came in droves, and it was nice to see them running around and having fun. It meant we all had fun.

As for my treat, we got about a tenth of an inch of rain last night. That was a nice surprise. It’s also cool this morning, which means Fall has really arrived and Summer has gone to the nether regions of the world to pester other people. I’m all in. We brought the Ficus in the house because it is no fan of cool weather, and the money tree is in the garage out of the way of killing frosts.  Speaking of which, we’ve yet to have a frost. I guess that’s the exclamation point of fall. A frost. Seems as though we should have had one by now.

Meanwhile I need to start thinking about decorating the house for Christmas. Its November. Although, I guess I should also give Thanksgiving a nod. Maybe today, I’ll go up in the attic and see what we have in the way of decorations. I’m pretty sure my late wife had some. I’ve been a little remiss in my seasonal decorating since she died. Maybe 2023 will be the year I dot that “i” and cross that “t”.  Just another way to remember someone I loved without making a big deal of it.
