Monday

My new schedule seems to be agreeing with me. Weekends are free of alarm clocks and the pressure of writing. Weekdays still find me at the keyboard before daylight, but I’m sleeping later and better so that’s a win. Life seems pretty smooth at the moment. Of course, a smooth life means there’s nothing much to write about, because where’s the pathos or even bathos. So, I did lie in bed this morning for a bit wondering what I might say today.

Here’s all I’ve got. I do wish the warmish weather would retreat. It’s January but feels like April and I’ve got my jackets out and would like to use them. The forecast calls for cooler weather later in the week, and I’ll welcome it. But we’re back to needing rain. I sure hope some comes our way, but we’re in a less moisture than usual weather pattern, so I’ll not be holding my breath. Never seems to work anyhow.

I pressured up the well in the back lots the other day and realized there’s a hairline crack in one of the PVC joints. This is a disappointment because I drained the lines and was surprised to see it. I now have plumbing work to do which is one of my least favorite pastimes. It requires a great deal of slow breathing and planning, but I’ve done it before and will likely do it again because it just comes with the territory. And there are lots of things in life like that, things that just come with the territory. And we do them. Because it’s expected.
