Second Verse

I had a good post day yesterday. It resonated with quite a few people. And that’s good. Except now I have to try and do it again the next day, and that’s damn near impossible, because resonating insights aren’t just lying around for the picking. The best I can do today is say that I solved the NY Times mini crossword in 44 seconds and that puzzle had 17 clues. My puzzle solving friends will understand and everyone else will just go, so?

So, I guess I’ll shift and say that I noticed that I was achy this morning. I dug in the garden yesterday and edged and mowed. And I don’t recall that in the youth of my 60s and early 70s, I would have felt this way. So, now I’m wondering if it's a sign of inevitable decline. But I suppose I should also throw in that I took a three mile walk yesterday. So, maybe it’s just me torturing my body by staying active.

That actually feels like a good, long term plan. Later this month, in keeping with the staying active plan, I’m going to Lajitas and Big Bend with my friends and my daughter, who is joining us for the first time. She is excited and we had a big conversation about hiking boots yesterday and trails we’d like to go on and things we’d like to do. I think it will be a good trip and a nice way to kiss winter goodbye and welcome spring to the party.
