Garden Life
Good morning from the dark side of dawn. I’ve missed two days. On Sunday I was at my daughter’s house in Pearland. Slept late. Went to breakfast with her and the kids and waited around for the son-in-law to come home. He was at War College. I got a shirt. Yesterday I had a bright and early doctor’s appointment. A follow up with my gastro guy. I have to go back in a year for another endoscopy, but no more colonoscopies. Yeah, on the latter. The topside stuff is all about acid reflux. Nothing catastrophic, just good maintenance needed.
Today will be all about the yard; it ran wild in my absence. Can’t blame it. It’s spring. We got rain. The yard loves it. The trees love it. The quantity of rain was paltry, relatively speaking. But no sense looking it in the mouth. I’ll take it. One should never diss rain no matter the quantity because you never know when the next batch will come. I fully expect a dry summer. I would love to be proved wrong. Really, I would love it.
Speaking of the lawn, the garden is doing equally well. The wild onions are blooming, the Blackfoot Daisies seem satisfied with their new home, Gregg’s Mist Flower is flowering, and the Crossvine is climbing the trellis. The garden is thriving. I am happy. And I am ready for my morning walk through the shade of the trees and the flowering plants. To see life in abundance. To watch the bees and the butterflies. To hear the birds. To feel at peace and at home with the flowers and the plants and the trees. My happy place.
