Highlights

My shopping excursion went off without a hitch yesterday. Accumulated goods without breaking the bank. Bought two books, two pair of socks, a three in one hair, face, and body wash and hand cream. My late wife got me started on the latter, and I like it. My daughter-in-law introduced me to the brand of hair, face, and body wash I use. I’ve always found it a good idea to go along with the women I love. Makes life easy, and I tend to smell good.

I passed on a new golf shirt because the big golf superstore thought a lot of their shirts and I was ambivalent. I did like all the equipment and accoutrements, and I will probably go back because that seems relatively affordable. Later this morning I’m heading off with my brother and his friend from Houston to play a round of golf, up north by Burnet. I’d say it should be fun and most likely will be, but those two like to compete and sometimes money is involved. That never works out well for me. Still, I’ll bang the ball and see if I can pull a rabbit out of my hat.

I started on one of the books yesterday and it seems promising. I’m a sci-fi, fantasy fan. We’ll see if it delivers. Getting back to reading has been one of the big wins of my recent cataract surgery. I get the left eye done on July 6. Given how wonderful the world looks with one good eye, I can only imagine what it will be like with two. There was trepidation before the first surgery, there is only anticipation for this one. And now I’m off to eat breakfast, put on my new socks, and get ready to go.
