Re-run III

Spent most of the day yesterday piddling around the yard. Put up some stray yard tools, picked up miscellaneous bits of trash. Put out the re-cycling. Did some prep work for a larger job to be undertaken today. Nothing to make anyone take notice except me. In the late afternoon and evening, I did battle with the electronic gods. Wi-Fi started acting up and the satellite decided it would rather not communicate with our abode, rendering the TV inert. Went to bed, thoroughly defeated disconnected from the world wide web and the industrial entertainment complex.
I slept reasonable well but awoke with the manly desire to conquer still in place. Wrestled the Wi-Fi to the ground. Jiggled connections and denied it sustenance. I unplugged it. Things seem to be functioning normally. Played with the satellite system as well, briefly re-established signal. Felt really proud of myself. Let the room. Came back. Signal once again lost. Deflated. I shall call in, navigate through the menus, which are sure to have changed, and try to find help.
At some point, I’m sure, there will come a day when I say, to hell with it. TV can come to me over public airways. I will have watched all I need to watch concerning aliens, ancient or otherwise, wars in color, rising factions, news, and the coming and goings of rich athletes. Once again books can entertain me. I’ll read at daylight and go to bed at dark. The web can fill in the blanks. Maybe now is the time for my paradigm shift. Perhaps I’ll forgo my call for relief and wait and see how the day plays out.
