Slowing Down

Word has a new look. Yippee. I’ve been through more new looks over the years than I can count. They always claim they’re making it better. Maybe they are. Usually, what it means is they’ve moved where we store the coffee cups to a new location, and it will take me three months to adjust. Okay. I’m good with that. I’ve made a nice living using Word and it can do some fun things.

Anyway, it’s cold outside. That’s good football weather, which is what I’ll be doing this evening, watching football, outside, in a stadium with a friend of longstanding. We’ve made lots of these trips over the years, and I imagine there will be many more. We’re getting older and the drives are harder, but good things take effort and we’re going to make it, the effort, even if it takes us two days and we have to drive really slow. I guess the question is, what’s the rush?

None, actually. That’s one of the good things about growing older. You learn that it is perfectly okay to take your time, and occasionally when you do, you discover lots of things you missed previously when you were rushing around all hot and bothered. I think they call that wisdom but that just might be a polite way of dressing up the loss of reflexes and stamina. But I don’t really care. I am where I am and at least I’m still here to appreciate it.
