Still Life

Got a massage and played golf yesterday. Good combo. Ate lunch at the course. They sell a nice peanut butter and jelly sandwich. There’s granola in the peanut butter and it’s spread on both sides with a big gob of jelly in the middle. I never really thought about how one might improve on the basic PB&J, but someone did. Good for them. Good for me, too.

I shot a nice low score helped mightily by my decision to move up to the front tees. It shortens the course considerably which fits nicely with my age and slightly diminished capacity. It also means I get a birdie now and again, and have an outside chance of breaking 80, which I just realized, means I might be able to shoot my age one day. And, oh, that would be fun. Great. New goal. It beats continuing to play from the back tees and hope I can still shoot a hundred when I’m 100.

Nothing much on the calendar today, a little computer work is all. I have things to schedule, things to order, things to do, a long walk to take. You might say I’m embracing the silence and the loneliness of self. And I don’t mean that in a negative way. Its just that every once in a while, it’s nice to tamp down the inputs and make sure the systems are all flowing in the same general direction before opening back up to the world in general.
