The Caregiver’s Tales
Tiny essays on life, nature, grief and other things that catch my fancy in the Texas Hill Country. Here’s how it all got started.

Track Thoughts
A day of running and jumping is in the books. The granddaughter finished ninth in the long jump, her 4X100 team finished 11th and missed the finals, but her 4X400 finished third and will run again today.
Running Days
Ready to Launch
Yesterday was another good day in the yard.
Eighth Place
Yesterday, my granddaughter ran the third leg of her team’s 4 X 400-meter relay in our regional track meet on the way to state. She took the baton in sixth place out of eight runners.
Playing Fields
I went to a high school junior varsity track meet yesterday. My varsity grand-daughter was running to post some times and warm up for district.
