Three Bits
I did my tax prep yesterday. I use an accountant. He sends me a booklet. I fill it out. I know people who do their own taxes. But I’m not that smart. Once upon a time, he worked for the IRS. I figure he knows things I don’t know. It’s always been simple, for me, and I like that. He started with me by doing the taxes for our company. This is our 24th year together. And he’s given me savvy advice on more than one occasion. It's good to have people like that in your corner.
Speaking of things I’ve done, I organized my closet. I’ve always tried to keep it neat and tidy, but it had gotten away from me recently. So, I went in. Dumped a bunch of shirts. Moved coats to summer storage and threw stuff away. I also installed dividers so that it would be easy for me to see my shirt colors at a glance. Blue, black, and red are the dominant strains with gray and brown close behind. I need to work in brighter colors. But finding good purple or green shirts is hard because I like a specific type of short sleeve. I want it to come closer to my elbow. And styles these days demand shorter sleeves, for bulging biceps, I guess.
And to tie this string of random anecdotes together, I heard some good news the other day. My son, Travis, is now an ISA certified Arborist, having just passed his test. That’s a nice accomplishment. He’s done tree work for several of my friends over the years, and if you need advice let me know and I’ll put you in touch. And, if you’d like to broaden your tree horizons, he has lots of suggestions, especially when it comes to native trees which will be good for your oaks. And with that, I bid you adieu.
