The outside Christmas lights are down, boxed, and stored back in the attic. Score one for me. There’s still a bit of work to do in that regard, however, because I have two boxes full of lights I didn’t use this year, mostly because they were the wrong temperature. I’m into cool white now days, and most of these are warm yellows or colors. I should probably dispose of them, but keeping around useless stuff is in my nature, witness my attic.

Today, I’ll start on the inside decorations, and when that’s done, Christmas officially will be over for me, and I can begin thinking about the next holiday or holidays. There’s Valentine’s Day and Easter followed quickly by Memorial Day and the Fourth of July leading up to Labor Day, then Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Wow, that’s an entire year right there and I think I understand why some people leave up their Christmas decorations all year, because it’s just coming back and why bother.

But that’s not in my nature at all. This Christmas is done and let’s move on; I have a future to address. I have people to whom I can send a Valentine, Easter is spring, Memorial Day is camping with family and friends, the Fourth is hot, Labor Day is football, and the rest are self-explanatory, but all of them represent fun things to do with family and friends, and I have plenty of both. And now that I think about it maybe I can use those old lights in the back lots and have two well lit areas for Christmas next year. Yeah. That might be a plan.
