Plan Change

Durn. Where there should have been a house full of sleeping children, there is only a house with a sleeping old man. And he’s obviously not sleeping since he’s typing this. The daughter and the grand-kids set out to visit yesterday. Got waylaid when the granddaughter started throwing up. Turned around, went back home. Turns out it was probably just car sickness. Oh, well, they’re coming back in two weeks. I can keep it together until then.

In preparation for the visit, I bought groceries, mowed, and was going to make a new dish this morning. It’s a casserole featuring canned biscuits, sausage, eggs, cheese, and gravy. A little bit much for one guy to eat. So, I think I’ll cook the biscuits, brown up the sausage, scramble a couple of eggs and drown my sorrow in cholesterol. Or maybe I should practice and cook the casserole. Yup, that’s what I’ll do. Practice. It doesn’t make perfect, but it can make you better.

Speaking of practice and making you better. My jeans are still wandering around Texas. Actually, they’re in Houston. It feels funny now. It’s been a month since I bought them. I actually think I’ll get them at some point. I just hope I’m still the same waist size. What’s weird is that the company handling the shipping pioneered the idea of overnight delivery. I wonder where they went wrong, because no one I know says good things about shipping with them.
