The Caregiver’s Tales
Tiny essays on life, nature, grief and other things that catch my fancy in the Texas Hill Country. Here’s how it all got started.

Things
It was carwash day yesterday. I got mine deep cleaned. Inside. It looks nice. All sparkly. I wonder how long it will last. I’ll do my best to keep it up, but we all know how that goes. Good intentions and all.
Retail
More tales of retail. Yesterday it was cars. Today, it’s glasses, shirts, and jeans.
Car Talk
A while back I decided to start taking my car to a dealership for it’s oil change. It happened after I needed the said dealership to fix a more serious issue with the car. I did this even though I knew dealerships liked to up-sell.
Car Thoughts
I skipped my morning essay yesterday because we left at 6:15 to go play golf. Nice time of day to do that. Got the round in under four hours, ate a nice lunch, and came on home.
Re-run II
It’s a cool morning in the Hill Country with still air full of birdsong. It should heat up later today. Fixed a toilet yesterday.
Slowing Down
I’m going to gripe about the tools of my trade.
Too Easy
I am back in the kitchen appliance game. After more months than I care to remember hand washing my dishes, I did my bit yesterday to keep the American economy spinning, I bought a dishwasher.
