Life Lessons
The party’s over. It was a success. But the afterglow is fading. I thought it might last longer. But there it goes becoming a thing of the past.
Looking Ahead
A front blew through, the air chilled, and all my trees have leafed out. It’s canopy time for my yard. That’s nice. My little trees are juveniles.

I set out for Houston yesterday morning with a nice covering of winter gray clouds and a north wind. I like that short light, when you know the sun barely has enough energy to get up over the horizon.
A Plan
The outside Christmas lights are down, boxed, and stored back in the attic. Score one for me.
Farm Report
An unusually wet July and August have done wonders for the khaki weed harvest. Crop yields are way up.
