The Report

I was drugged and probed yesterday. They found nothing which is good. It was an endoscopy the one year follow up to my last one. It appears that following doctor’s orders and taking your medicine is a good strategy. I guess I’ll keep on keeping on. Of course, I had to spend the day in a propofol haze with no driving, no signing legal documents, no operating machinery. I watched a bunch of tv and wandered around outside. Small price to pay.

In this calendar year I’ve had arteries repaired, and my heart and now my upper GI checked. Feels as though I’ve been in the shop a lot lately, but that’s probably par for the course with us older models. And I know it’s better to catch things before they fail than try to deal with the fallout of something going wrong. I think there’s a saying about that. But I would like some time away from doctors if only my body would cooperate.

Oh well, there’s a bright golden haze on the meadow, gray clouds that hint of rain, and the crape myrtles and all the other flowers are all blooming, so my tiny world is in place and in shape. And it’s probably better to be thankful for what I have than grouse about what I wish I had because what I have feels pretty good and I know there are most certainly others less fortunate. So, off we go trying to be cheery and mostly doing a pretty good job at it.
