Game Time

Yesterday was a good day. In the morning, I got Wordle in two. In the afternoon, I got to Houston to visit my daughter and the two grandkids, and last night Altuve homered in the ninth and the Astro’s won. Here’s hoping the good vibes continue this afternoon when my friend, Tommy, and I head over to UH to watch the Cougars play the Longhorns in football.

I’d say it should be a good game, but if I’ve learned anything over the years its this. I have no idea if a game is going to be good or bad. And even when it’s bad, it’s still fun sitting outside with a good friend watching it all go down and I’ve known Tommy since shortly after I met my soon to be wife back in 1969. He was the brother of one of her roommates and best friends, Mary.

Over the years Tommy and I have lived, hunted, camped, and traveled together. We’ve done it in weather good and bad and during times hard and easy. We’ve watched our Cougars win and lose. We’ve brought home wild game and come home empty handed. We’ve raised our kids. And now our kids have their own kids and some of their kids are grown, and we’re still truckin’. Making memories and trying to pass things along.
