Star Light
There was a second big storm yesterday. This one brought hail and rain. My son and I pulled our vehicles under the carport and watched the ice fall.
Wild Onions
A terrific storm banged and rattled the house last night. There was thunder, there was lightning, there was wind. There was very little rain.
Field Report
I mowed yesterday. Mostly from force of habit. No rain means no grass to speak of, only the little weedy plants and they’re not that tall.
Getting Ready
Another holiday weekend is in the books. Of course, this was a big one, a major Christian holiday, and I suppose it remains to be seen how everyone lives the message.
Real World
Let me check. Yes, I’m home. With nothing much to do in the coming days except go listen to music. That will be a balm.
Home Again
For the first time in well over a week I woke up this morning without having to worry I was disturbing either a camping companion or a tiny grandchild.

Captain’s Log: Stardate 220305
Yesterday I woke in the front room of a friend’s travel trailer in Study Butte, with other friends close by. Today, I wake in my own bed.

I went for a drive down River Road from Lajitas to Closed Canyon yesterday with a friend who has traveled the road before.

I rediscovered something in Santa Elena Canyon of the Big Bend. I am nothing and I like the solitude.

Mountains leave me speechless. I’ve driven in the Alps, the Rockies, The Smokies, and the snowcapped peaks of the San Bernadino mountains. The affect is always the same. There is nothing much to say. I can only look.

Our little home away from home is home. We made it safely to the rendezvous in Study Butte and are now gathered with our friends.
