Two days in on my hand surgery and I’m feeling a little down, mainly kicking myself for not doing it sooner, made worse by having to do everything left-handed.

The year of the medical procedure continues. Skin surgery. I had a squamous cell carcinoma removed from the back of my right hand yesterday.

For the longest time I had two easy chairs sitting side by side facing the TV. It was how we organized the living room when we moved into our new home.

Good morning. The house is quiet. The kids are all asleep. Dad should still be asleep as well, but sunlit windows tell dads brain the day has started and what in the world are you doing in bed.

Went to a garage sale yesterday. My daughter came home from work with the kids and off we went. It was just a short walk down the street.

I’m floating. Doing duty in Houston this weekend. Came in for my regular dental appointment staying to be with the grand-kids. I’m also going to get my cracked windshield replaced. This is the second time in two years.

Take note. I’ve started my Christmas shopping. It began at Trade Days, when I realized I had found a goldmine of fine, odd gifts.

Yesterday, in my blog, I mentioned that we all worked for giant social media companies for free, generating streams of data they then use to sell us stuff.

And the week begins, although it really started yesterday, because Sunday is the first day of the week. But most of us these days think of weeks in terms of work, and this is the first workday.

Durn. Where there should have been a house full of sleeping children, there is only a house with a sleeping old man. And he’s obviously not sleeping since he’s typing this.

I took a medical day yesterday. Got scoped coming and going. It appears the days of routine colonoscopies are done. Yesterday was my ten year anniversary procedure.

It was carwash day yesterday. I got mine deep cleaned. Inside. It looks nice. All sparkly. I wonder how long it will last. I’ll do my best to keep it up, but we all know how that goes. Good intentions and all.

More tales of retail. Yesterday it was cars. Today, it’s glasses, shirts, and jeans.

A while back I decided to start taking my car to a dealership for it’s oil change. It happened after I needed the said dealership to fix a more serious issue with the car. I did this even though I knew dealerships liked to up-sell.

Had a great weekend with friends and family. Drove the roads. Listened to music. Ate crawfish. Drank a beer or two. Now, I’m at the Wile E. Coyote moment, where I’ve just passed over the edge of the cliff and find myself poised for the big drop back to earth.

Good morning. It’s Saturday. Earlier in the year I thought I might go back to taking weekends off. But that has turned out to be a bad idea. Apparently, I need the discipline of writing every day to keep my mind and body on track.

Day two of the new rule. I pondered all day yesterday, what I might say today. Nothing sensational really popped into my head, but that’s okay.

I’m back. I tried getting up late, writing whenever, and taking days off. But I missed the discipline of the early rise, and the morning write. Maybe I should have been a monk. I

Had a bit of a lost friend scare on Wednesday. Got a call that afternoon asking if I’d heard from said friend. I said, no. The lack of communication was of interest because we were meeting the friend on Thursday in Houston to hear music.

I have to admit. As stories go, mine is pretty boring, especially these days. My big activity yesterday was golf with friends.
